Progressive Tool & Die Manufacturing

Multi-stage progressive dies for high-volume sheet metal parts, designed and built in our Vasai tool room and proven on our own presses before they reach yours.

A progressive die moves a metal strip through a series of stations. Each press stroke pierces, notches, bends or forms one stage of the part, and a finished component drops out at the end. For parts needed in tens of thousands per month, it is usually the lowest cost way to produce them. Our article Progressive vs. Compound Dies explains when it pays off.

What we build

  • Multi-stage progressive dies for blanking, piercing, notching, bending and forming
  • Tools for brackets, clips, terminals, contacts, lugs, washers and similar stamped parts
  • Tools for automotive, electrical, electronics and general industrial components
  • New tools from your drawing, and improvements to existing tool designs

How we build it

Strip layout first. Material is often the biggest part of piece cost, so we optimise the strip layout for utilisation and share it for your approval before any steel is cut.

Design and manufacture under one roof. The tool is designed and built in our Vasai tool room. Punches, die inserts and plates are cut on CNC wire cut EDM for accurate clearances and repeatable parts.

Proven on a production press. Every tool is tried out on our presses, and sample parts are sent for your inspection and approval before production starts.

Why buyers choose Atharva Engineers

  • Since 2004: two decades of progressive tooling for Indian manufacturers
  • Tool room plus press shop: the people who built the tool can run it and fix it, which saves you time
  • Two units: design and tool room in Vasai East, production in Manor, Palghar, for capacity and continuity
  • Cost-focused design review: we check every drawing for ways to reduce piece cost
  • 24-hour RFQ response with a technical evaluation, not just a price

Frequently Asked Questions

What do you need from us to quote for a progressive tool?

A 2D drawing (PDF, DWG or DXF) or a 3D model (STEP), the material grade and thickness, the expected monthly or annual volume, and whether you need only the tool or the tool plus production of parts.

Can you also produce the parts once the tool is ready?

Yes. Our Manor production unit runs power presses from 10T to 60T for progressive stamping, along with assembly, spot welding and bulk dispatch. You can also take the tool to your own plant.

How long does a progressive tool take to build?

It depends on the number of stations and the complexity of the part. We share a realistic schedule along with the quotation, with strip layout and design approval as the first milestone.

Do you maintain the tool after delivery?

Yes. Regrinding, insert replacement and repair are handled by the same tool room that built the tool. See our die maintenance service for details.
